Runnymede & Weybridge Parliamentary Candidate

September 7, 2019 1:25 PM

We are delighted to introduce Robert O'Carroll as our Parliamentary Candidate to represent Runnymede & Weybridge. Rob O'Carroll

Robert was born in and grew up in London and after studying at Bradford university moved back to London with his young family. A lifelong liberal the 2015 GE spurred him into becoming more politically active and to build a better London and world for all our children.

He has both friends and family who work in health, education, social services and the police. This, and having work for councils in their Planning, Education and Highways departments, gives him an insight into the challenges facing these vital public servants.

In May 2018 he was elected as Councillor for Whitton ward in the London Borough of Richmond. He was appointed as the First Disability Champion in the Borough.

As the father of children with special educational needs and having been assessed as requiring educational assistance himself, he is proud to have completed education to a degree level. This has made him keenly aware of the difficulties facing the education sector.

When selected as the local Parliamentary Candidate he pledged:
• To be an advocate for all people of Runnymede & Weybridge.
• To Campaign for Liberal and Democratic ideals.
• To foster hope, not hate.

The local team are really pleased that we have Rob as our local ambassador and are excited to help his campaign going forward.
