Borough Candidate - Thorpe
I have lived in Thorpe for the past 16 years, mainly commuting into London for my day job as a lawyer, but grew up in Kenya followed by eight years in Australia and Japan. My membership of the LibDems dates back to 2016 and was mainly, I have to admit, triggered by my son's enthusiasm for the party and his involvement in the Brexit referendum, although my political beliefs have been largely aligned with the LibDems for many years. Since then I have been as involved as possible, whilst dealing with my work and family life. I believe that local issues should be dealt with by local people and I am adamantly opposed to the proposals for a unitary Surrey authority. Such spare time as I have is spent trying to write the Great British Novel (with very limited success), baking gluten-free goodies and walking my two large and rather energetic dogs.
