I have lived in Lyne for over 20 years and I was elected as one of the Runnymede Borough ward councillors in May 2019. I am leader of the Liberal Democrat group at the council and a member of Corporate Management, Environment & Sustainability and Surrey County Council/ Runnymede Joint Council Committees. Over the last few years I have been the Chair of the Lyne Residents' Association. Part of this role has been to represent the Lyne community at the Ada's Farm Public Inquiry. This has arisen following the illegal development of Ada's Farm which lies within the "green belt". I believe that the residents of Runnymede benefit from having a strong Liberal Democratic opposition to the Conservatives. Now there are three Liberal Democrat councillors in Runnymede the previous air of complacency within our local government is being challenged. Prior to my involvment with local politics I ran a local garden business preceded by working for nearly 30 years in a Footsie 100 company.
