I have lived in Lyne for over 20 years during which time my 2 children have attended local schools and colleges. I ran my own holistic therapy business, largely based in and around Surrey. Since being elected as one of the Liberal Democrat councillors in May 2019, I became a member of the Planning & Housing Committees. Early in 2020 I was appointed Chair of the Runnymede Health & Wellbeing Task Group where I can use my past experience in health, to identify issues & problems. I am heavily involved with the Lyne Residents' Association so manage to keep a close relationship with local residents. Prior to being elected I successfully campaigned against the closure of the Lyne Recycling Centre, organising a petition which attracted over 8000 signatures.

One of the things that irritates me is the amount of local flytipping. I believe that Surrey County Council should abolish charging residents to dispose of their DIY materials, as well as keep Lyne tip open 7 days a week. Whilst there is no excuse to dump waste at the side of the road, I can understand the annoyance when you have a car full of rubbish only to find the tip closed on a Thursday and Friday. It is false economy to then expect Runnymede council to clear up the fly tipping.

I believe that the local council should be represented by people who understand the local needs of its residents and make sure that they have a voice. In my spare time I love working on my allotment, walking and cooking healthy meals using my allotment veg.
