General Election Results 2024

What a great General Election it has been for the Liberal Democrats nationally, 72 MP’s, far exceeding the expectations of many of us. 

Wow, how far we have come in nine turbulent years since 2015!

In Runnymede & Weybridge we had a good result with Ellen Nicholson coming second with 10,815 votes (22,4%).  This was the key target for the constituency, and it will provide an important springboard at the next General Election. 

The Windsor result was a close third with Julian Tisi getting 9,539 votes (21.1%).  These were both very good results for seats which were not being targeted by the Regional and National Parties and a credit to both Ellen and Julian.

A huge thank you to you all for your support over the election campaign, especially those of you who have delivered leaflets, canvassed, donated money, shared our social media posts and had stake boards/ garden posters.  We only ever succeed by working hard and our success is down to all of you.  Hopefully, we will be able to grow our ranks in the coming months and become ever more effective.

We now have a new Labour Government that should act quickly to reverse the dramatic decline in so many aspects of our lives.  Our work goes on in holding them to account and pushing for electoral reform and a return to a stronger positive relationship with Europe.
