Surrey Highway's Budget

30 May 2023

It seems that the Liberal Democrats in Runnymede have rattled the Surrey Conservatives when we reported, in leaflets distributed to residents in New Haw, Virginia Water, Lyne, Longcross and Chertsey South earlier this year, that they had voted to reduce the Highway's Budget across the county. This is at a time when the most talked about topic on the doorstep has been potholes and the state of our roads. At a recent Surrey County Council meeting one of our leaflets was used as an example of the Liberal Democrats telling false truths, to gain advantage in the local elections. We are quite sure that we have not mislead residents and, as you can see from the extract of the Final Capital Budget below, there is definitely a reduction to the budget.
