Tories are more than an embarrassment for Surrey. They are damaging all of us.

Every day it seems there is another revelation about the utter mess Conservatives at Surrey have got themselves and us into. Cllr Ian Beardsmore said "I was at the appalli ng budget meeting and even I am struggling to understand what is going on, and keep up with all the changes."

The really frightening thing is there are people whose lives depend on Surrey County Council and the level of mis management must be worrying.

As far as we can tell the proposal for a 15% council tax hike, was stalled at the last minute following a 'Gentleman's Agreement' between Surrey and Government. An agreement that the government say never happened. It now seems that Surrey MPs are starting to panic at the bad publicity the Tories are getting. (These are in fact the same MPs who voted for the cuts in government funding in the first place.)

What is obvious to us is that Surrey puts far more money into the national economy than it takes out and these cuts are one step too far and are going to kill the goose that lays the golden egg. We say we want a bit more of our money spent on us.
