Hundreds of houses to be built impacting roads & hospitals

It is great news that more housing is being built across the country. However there are local concerns about the number of large developments proposed by the Government.

Within Runnymede there are 1500 houses to be built in the Longcross Garden Village, which will have a serious impact on the local roads and infrastructure such as schools and hospitals. In addition, there are a further 3500 dwellings proposed for the Woodham Lane Village (also known as the McLaren Village) as well as a potentially large development on the Fairoak's Airport site.

All of these areas converge onto the A320 Chertsey to Woking road and will have a huge impact on traffic going to the M25 at Junction 11, an already busy area. The Lib Dems have concerns about the appropriate infrastructure that is needed to support this number of dwellings and will keep a close eye on what is being proposed. Please feed back any concerns or thoughts through Facebook, Twitter or email.
